ALUM LORENZO TRIBURGO’S SOLO SHOW AND ARTIST TALKS IN PHILADELPHIA

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I had an exciting trip to Philadelphia last week where I gave an Artist Talk and attended the Reception for my show, Transportraits, curated by Harris Fogel at The University of the Arts, Gallery 1401.

I am pleased to share that the show gained some positive media attention. Here is a clip from Roberta Fallon’s review in Philadelphia Weekly:

“Like [Cindy] Sherman’s works, Triburgo’s “Transportraits” have an element of tall-tale telling–Paul Bunyan-style. There is truth here but it’s steeped in irony. Each portrait captures a likeness, but taken as a whole, the pictures are actually quite fantastical. And what’s refreshing about “Transportraits” is that it focuses on heroism, not pain.”

Read the whole Philadelphia Weekly review here.

I was also interviewed for a piece on CBS Radio and Philadelphia Gay News about Transportraits and the Daily News interviewed me for a story on trans issues.

Thank you to everyone who made this show possible–especially Harris Fogel, The University of the Arts and Equality Forum.
