Have women in photography finally arrived? Has new media empowered women by opening up new avenues in which to create, show and distribute images thus leveling the playing field? These are some of the questions asked at a panel discussion presented by Professional Women Photographers and the MFA Photography, Video and Related Media Department at the School of Visual Arts.
Moderated by Elisabeth Biondi, independent curator and former long-time Visuals Editor at The New Yorker, distinguished panelists include Vince Aletti, photography critic for The New Yorker and columnist for Photograph; Martine Fougeron, fine art, editorial and portrait photographer; Lisa Kereszi, fine art photographer and lecturer at the Yale School of Art; Lyle Rexer, curator, writer and lecturer in photography and Sarah Silver, fashion photographer.
