Arts+Business Partners will launch a new series of events about photography and kickstarting your own collection, they will be introducing some of New York's most intriguing, emerging and under-the-radar photographers.
Maureen Drennan is based in New York City and received an MFA from SVA in 2009. Her work has been included in exhibitions including the National Portrait Gallery in Washington D.C., the Rhode Island School of Design Museum, Chelsea Art Museum, Silvereye Center for Photography, Newspace Center for Photography and The Wild Project. Her images have been featured in The New Yorker, The New York Times, California Sunday Magazine, Photograph Magazine and the UK Telegraph. She has received honors from Aperture, The Photo Review, PDN, The Photographic Resource Center of Boston, Humble Arts, Artist as Citizen, and the Camera Club of New York. Maureen currently teaches photography at the International Center for Photography and LaGuardia Community College in New York City.
Pacifico Silano is a lens-based artist whose work is an investigation into lost histories of the LGBTQ community. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he received his MFA in Photography from the School of Visual Arts. His work has been exhibited in group shows including at the Bronx Museum; Context, Miami; Oude Kerk, Amsterdam; and ClampArt, New York City. He had a solo show at Baxter St @CCNY in 2016. Reviews of his work have appeared in The New Yorker, Artforum, Newsweek and The New York Times. He is a winner of the Individual Photographer's Fellowship from the Aaron Siskind Foundation and a Finalist for the Aperture Foundation Portfolio Prize. He was chosen both as an Artist-in-Residence at Light Work in Syracuse, NY and for the Workspace Residency of Baxter St@CCNY. He is also a 2016 fellow in Photography with the New York Foundation for the Arts.
Patricia Voulgaris is based in New York and got her BFA in Photography from SVA in 2013. Since then, her work has been exhibited at Baxter St @CCNY, Foley Gallery, Aperture Foundation, OFF_Festival Bratislava and Photo LA. In 2014, she completed a residency at Baxter St@ CCNY, and she was chosen as PDN's "The Curator" grand-prize winner. Her photographs have been featured in publications and blogs such as Dear Dave Magazine, Photo District News, Der Greif and The New York Times Lens Blog. She was recently named a finalist for Magenta Foundation's Flash Forward 2016 competition.
