A new generation of artist/photographers are defining the pictorial editorial page with innovative and idiosyncratic views of the world. This discussion brings together two remarkable photographers, Ryan Koopmans and Ryan Pfluger, in a discussion with fellow alum, Jacqueline Bates, award winning Director of Photography for The California Sunday Magazine. What now defines a freelance career for an artist photographer? What has changed in the editorial process? How do you maintain the integrity of your vision on assignment? The three participants will discuss their work and decision making process with a Q&A to follow.
This event is the first of a number of public lectures and presentations over the next year and a half that mark SVA MFA Photo, Video, and Related Media’s 30th Anniversary sponsored by the Theodor Scheimpflug Society and B&H.
Free and open to the public. More details to follow.
