Three-channel video (6:30 minutes)
In Eye Contact, Jungmin Kim uses a video camera to explore New York and to reconsider the tradition of street photography. The cold of winter and people’s wariness of cameras sets a somber mood, which is lightened by the varied tempo, the occasional smile and the recurring sound of a bell, which serves to remind us of Jungmin Kim’s presence.
