Brett Henrikson

  Next Slide

To create his works, Henrikson begins with images drawn from art history textbooks—often depicting classical Western sculptures—which he then manipulates on a flatbed scanner. The resulting forms, which manifest as photographs, textiles, or sculptures, hover somewhere between the antique and contemporary, the analogue and the digital, the handmade and the mass-produced. Working like a visual DJ, Henrikson creates new compositions sampled and remixed from the past.
