The Truths of Origin
In The Truths of Origin, Tsangsey gives visual form to her understanding of life’s uncertainty and impermanence. According to Buddhist philosophy, the world is composed of Five Great Elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Wind and Space, in which an imbalance of elements causes change. The installation has four components representing earth, fire, water and wind; space is represented by the corner space itself. In front of each piece are small samples of earth, incense ashes, water and air from Tibet.
