Life Drawing is a documentary film which depicts the history of art education in modern China through three generations of artists in one family.  Qian, the youngest generation and film's narrator, seamlessly weaves images and interviews of her parents and grandparents recalling their artistic motivations paralleled with political and financial restrictions.  On this journey of self-discovery, Qian reiterates the importance of artistic freedom and personal truths, which lead her to the United States to receive her MFA.
