Metanalysis: Bible of Mountains and Seas
Ze Gao illustrates three demons described in an ancient Chinese text, using traditional calligraphy, a digital interpretation of calligraphy, a 3D print model, a handmade book usingGoogle Translate, and a voice recognition video. In each translation of an image, the original text is transformed and degraded. This interactive project aims to explore the nature of cultural transmission over time and place, and the inevitable distortions that result. Demon Di Hong in its various forms is represented here.
